Silvey to announce license fee office reform plan

Rep. Ryan Silvey, R-Kansas City, will announce a license fee office reform plan Monday, according to KC Buzz Blog.
Silvey's plan would award license fee contracts to not-for-profit organizations and end the patronage system that has existed in both Republican and Democratic administrations.

Democrat Doug Harpool proposed turning fee offices over to not for profits couple months ago. It is good to see the Republicans are following his leadership.

I guess not for profit management of fee offices is better than the current horrible system, but what's wrong with the state operating all of them, putting inspectors in the offices so that we get a one-stop system rather than having to drive to four or five different places to get a car licensed?

The Republicans cancelled the press conferences under pressure from Blunt.
They apparantly forgot to get his permission before demonstrating independent thought which of course is strictly prohibited by the Republican party.
