Now that the legislature once again got rid of the limits (as of Aug. 28 when the new law goes into effect), the commission decided it needed to do nothing to even the playing field between potential opponents of the candidates who were allowed to keep their previous over-limit contributions.
In effect, commissioners said that since on Aug. 29, anybody can raise unlimited amounts of money for campaigns, no action by them between now and then would make any sense.

Ethics Commission will take no further action on oversized contributions
The Missouri Ethics Commission, during a meeting this morning, elected not to worry any more about the oversized campaign contributions collected during the first seven months of 2007 since all limits are out the window in 27 days anyway:
