Hartzler: All Obama gave us was recycled ideas

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

“The State of the Union is the President’s opportunity to outline how he plans to solve the most serious challenges facing our country, but he has again put forward recycled ideas that fail to move our nation forward.
We have the opportunity to grow our economy, keep our teachers, doctors, and soldiers employed while securing the future of our country. The House has worked to reverse the devastating across-the-board cuts known as sequestration with credible, common-sense savings and reforms. Washington can help Americans expand their opportunities, without burying our children and grandchildren under a mountain of debt.
What we need from our President are solid proposals and a framework for controlling spending, reducing the debt, expanding opportunity for all Americans, and – in light of dangers posed by terrorism and rogue nations like North Korea – strengthening our national defense.”

With continued opposition by US House Repubs to anything the current White House occupant supports and record numbers of filibusters by Repubs in the Senate our Vicky H. can continue to complain about what she perceives as an ineffective president.
