Randy Cope no longer with American Consolidated Media

Former Neosho Daily News Publisher Randy Cope is out as head man at American Consolidated Media, according to a message sent to company employees by the company's vice president in charge of human resources.

Cope had risen to the top of GateHouse Media and its predecessor Liberty Group Publishing before he and others who had built Liberty were pushed out by current GateHouse CEO Michael Reed. After that, Cope was hired for the top spot at ACM, whose newspapers in several states include the Miami News-Record and Grove Sun.

The text of the letter about Cope's departure is printed below"

As companies continue to transform, change is a natural part of the process. These changes continue to evolve companies into the future, even if a bit painful. It is in this spirit, that we announce Randy Cope, CEO is no longer with ACM.

With a change of this magnitude we acknowledge some might become concerned. We will have a smooth transition as the Board has named Scott Wright, COO to lead the company in the interim. As a team, we will continue to work towards building the revenues of our company in each region, today and into the future. Our focus has not changed.  Our vision remains the same - to be the leading media organization in every community we serve.

ACM is stable, we have a solid vision for the future and, as a work family, we have a responsibility to remain focused and keep moving forward.  In alignment with our culture of C.A.R.E., we are committed to keeping the communication flowing to ensure you are informed in a timely manner.
Thank you in advance for staying the course and doing your very best to help ACM succeed.

Navolia Bryant

Another management shakeup, eh? I would say all is not well at ACM, despite Ms. Bryant's numerous assertions to the contrary. Who will win this game of corporate musical chairs? I can tell you who it won't be: the average employee.

I only worked for one of their papers for ten years and was fired so the publisher could give his brother my job.
