I just got back a few minutes ago from the Wordstock book signing at Always Buying Books.
Thanks, as always, to owner Bob Wolfe, who always makes local authors feel welcome and does a great job of promoting our books.
The place was packed for three hours. It was a pleasure seeing so many people who were interested in reading. Some came to see me or one of the other local authors, Larry Wood, Helen Hunter, Cheryle Finley, and Michele Hanslford, while othrs took advantage of Bob's sale and were looking at different kinds of books.
As someone who has taught reading (briefly) and writing (for 14 years), it was a joy to see that many people with books in their hands.
I also had a great opportunity to talk with old and new friends about subjects ranging from education to the Joplin Tornado, to Joplin city government.
Signed copies of all of my books, with the exception of Devil's Messenger, are available at Always Buying Books. (An updated version of Devil's Messenger will be published sometime in 2015.)
