Mike Wassenaar, director of bands for the past 10 years for the Grandview R-2 School District, has been hired as the new Joplin High School band director.Wassenaar replaces Chris Mudd, who resigned earlier this month for personal reasons. He will be the district's third high school band director in the past year. Mudd, the former South Middle School band director, replaced Rick Castor, who resigned during the first semester of the 2014-2015 school year.
