Bright Futures expands into Little Rock School District

Though Bright Futures has been much diminished in its importance in the Joplin R-8 School District, its parent organization, Bright Futures USA, has continued its expansion, with much of that coming in other states, particularly in Arkansas.

The Little Rock School District formed its Bright Futures organization Thursday.

The following is a portion of the news released issued by the school district:

The Little Rock School District, in partnership with the City of Little Rock and Goodwill Industries of Arkansas, launched a new initiative Thursday, January 12, 2017, with a goal of ensuring "Bright Futures" for all Little Rock students. The effort, of the same name, works within the Little Rock School District to connect student needs with existing community resources.

The Bright Futures model brings together businesses, human service agencies, faith-based organizations, municipalities, non-profits and parent groups and partners them with schools in a way that helps them to quickly and efficiently meet students’ basic needs – often within 24 hours. This enables students and teachers to focus on education and achieving success.
