Missouri health officials reported one of the state's worst days since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday, adding 283 cases and 37 deaths to the total.
The death toll stands at 946, while there have been 16,908 cases, according to the statistics released by the Department of Health and Senior Services Thursday afternoon.
Twenty-three of the deaths occurred in St. Louis County, which leads the state with 541, followed by the city of St. Louis with 148 (including eight deaths during the previous day), 68 in St. Charles County, 30 in Kansas City, 22 in Jackson County, 19 in Jefferson County, 18 in Franklin County and 10 in Scott County.

"There was a delay in the reporting of a number of deaths from a jurisdiction into the Missouri tracking system. The increase today includes some deaths that occurred outside of the past 24 hours."
So it's not actually one of our worse days due to what those of us who watch the daily statistics are very familiar with, overworked or incompetent jurisdiction delayed reporting.
Actually that excuse was already used at the beginning.
Oh come on. Randy knew that. It just would have made his post much less sensational if he had included that little fact about the reporting period. Most people never question his headlines and ledes.
