Jasper County COVID-19 total leaps to 230, 100 in past three days, 686 in quarantine, Carthage hit hard

One hundred COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the three days since the Jasper County Health Department gave its last update.

The outbreak is mostly centered in the Carthage area, according to a news release issued earlier this evening.

The coronavirus count is now at 230, with 181 in isolation, 686 under quarantine and 535 others being monitored.

The Health Department offered a stern warning to those who violate an order putting them under quarantine or in isolation.

"The Jasper County Health Department would like to remind the public that those individuals that have been placed on either quarantine or isolation must follow the guidelines explained to them in their orders.

"Those individuals who are not following their orders will be referred to the appropriate law enforcement agency."
