House Republicans to unveil license fee office plan Monday

House Republicans' plans to reform the awarding of license fee offices, which has been under investigation by the FBI, will be unveiled Monday in Springfield and other sites across the state after a two-week delay, which came at the request of Governor Matt Blunt.
An Associated Press article indicates the plan's spokesman Rep. Ryan Silvey,R-Kansas City, says he and the other legislators involved in the plan, never met with the governor though they tried. A spokesman for Blunt said a meeting had been scheduled, but the legislators canceled it.
Silvey has not confirmed early reports that the plan would award license fee contracts to not-for-profit organizations and end the patronage system that has existed in both Republican and Democratic administrations.

Sounds like these Republican House members are jumping ship from the Governor and Republican Senators. I wonder what Norma Champion thinks about Republican House members endorsing her Democratic opponent Doug Harpool's fee office reform proposals. It just further establishes his spot as an effective leader in the ethics reform movement in the state. It must be especially embarassing that she told KY3 she didn't know enough about the issue to have a reform plan of her own or a position on the issue. Since these House members apparantly know enough about the issue to have adopted Harpool's plan you wonder how a Senator could be so uninformed about the issue.
