Former KOAM morning personality joins Royals

Toby Cook is finally leaving the world of morning television.
Cook, who teamed with Andy Carson at KOAM for the first morning show in the Joplin/Pittsburg area, is leaving WDAF-TV, Kansas City, where he has been since 1998, to join the Kansas City Royals as vice president of public relations. Cook has been the morning show anchor at WDAF. His new job will start Aug. 7, according to a Royals' news release.

Where is Andy now? We used to love Toby and Andy in the morning!

I had the pleasure (or adventure) of being interviewed by Toby and Andy in the early 1990s, when I did a comparison of the three local stations' news coverage for The Carthage Press. When it was mentioned on the KOAM newscast a few nights ago that Toby had been hired for the Royals position, it was mentioned that Andy was still in the TV business. If anyone knows what he is doing, leave a comment or drop me a line. I will see what I can find out.
