Uncertain futures for hospitalized bus crash victims, families

The Houston Chronicle continues its excellent coverage of the aftermath of Friday morning's bus crash in which 17 people heading for the Marian Days observance in Carthage were killed.

This article, posted less than a half hour ago, deals with the hospitalized victims and the families of victims, both dead and alive:

Tucked away in the intensive-care unit of the only hospital here is a 68-year-old Houston woman whose body is broken inside and out.

As she fights to recover from multiple injuries, her family said, she knows she survived a horrifying bus crash, but is unaware that her mother and sister are dead.

"She is getting better, but she doesn't know anything," her son Sonny Pham said on Sunday. "We can't tell her, it will scare her too much."

The article also includes other stories about victims' families and accounts of the accident.
