State auditor candidate continues to rack up lobbyists' gifts


Rep. Mark Wright, R-Springfield, a state auditor candidate, collected more gifts from lobbyists in May than any of the 10 representatives from the Springfield area, according to documents filed earlier this month with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Wright picked up $757.20 in May to increase his Springfield-area leading total to $2,059.02. Wright's May total was more than the $321.59 received by the other nine representatives combined.
Mark Wright, R-Springfield- Wright's $757.20 included $457.38 for entertainment. He received $75 worth of entertainment and $46.63 for meals, food, and beverage from Terry Schlemeier, lobbyist for Four Season Resort and Ameren UE on March 16 and an additional $40 for entertainment the following day. Another $323.97 for entertainment came from J.Scott Marrs, lobbyist for the Missouri Hospital Association May 24. Wright also received $100 in meals, food, and beverage from Allen James Snider, University of Missouri, May 4, according to the Ethics Commission documents.
Charles Dake, D-Miller- Dake's totals for May and for 2006 are the same, $48.12.
Mike Parson, R-Bolivar- Parson has $417.93 for the year and $41.01 in May.
Jim Viebrock, R-Republic- Viebrock has $252.35 for the year and $49.97 in May.
Charles Denison, R-Springfield- Denison's totals are $167.74 for 2006 and $21.72 for May.
B. J. Marsh, R-Springfield- Marsh has not accepted any gifts from lobbyists this year.
Sara Lampe, D-Springfield- Ms. Lampe has received $380.25 in gifts this year and $40 in May.
Brad Roark, R-Springfield- Roark has the second highest total for the year, $1,152.62, but only accepted $47.80 worth of gifts in May.
Bob Dixon, R-Springfield- Dixon has the third highest total in the area, $686.62 for the year and accepted $73.07 in gifts in May.
Jay Wasson, R-Nixa- Wasson has not accepted any gifts from lobbyists.
