Former Neosho police officer Justin Keith Pickup is asking for a change of judge and change of venue for his endangering the welfare of a child case.
The motions were made by Pickup's lawyer, Charles Rhoades, Neosho, today in Newton County Circuit Court. Pickup was charged for allegedly supplying vodka to 16-year-old Kassie Schenck shortly before she was killed in a one-car accident on Dec. 21.
His next court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17
Pickup turned himself in to Newton County authorities June 30 and was released after posting $5,000 bond. The case is being prosecuted by the attorney general's office.
