Sen. Delbert Scott, R-Lowry City, who is heading up the Mike Huckabee campaign in Missouri told Jason Rosenbaum at the Columbia Tribune Politics Blog that Huckabee will come to the Show-Me State after next Tuesday's New Hampshire primary:
“Yes, I am sure. I don’t think it will be until after New Hampshire. But they are committed to being in Missouri and having a good presence here," Scott said.
The New Hampshire contest - which takes on Tuesday - is expected to have a different result than Thursday's caucuses. Huckabee is seen as something of an underdog compared to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona.
Even Scott acknowledges that Huckabee might not prevail on Tuesday.
“My feeling is that he’s an underdog in New Hampshire," Scott said. "That’s an interesting turf in New Hampshire. If he can come in second or third in New Hampshire and then get back on his feet in South Carolina, I think he continues the momentum. But again, I think his message to America, it resonates wherever you go.”
