Voting deadline extended in Maryland

NBC has just announced that due to bad weather, voting hours in Maryland have been extended an hour and a half. In other words, the polls will not close until 8:30 p.m. Joplin time.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer just described the early Virginia Republican results as "surprising," with Mike Huckabee leading John McCain. Why on earth anyone should be surprised by anything Huckabee is able to accomplish is beyond me. Huckabee has 49 percent of the vote to 43 percent for John McCain with nine percent of the vote in.

CNN is about five minutes behind NBC on the news of the extension of the voting deadline in Maryland. Washington, D. C. results should start coming in at the top of this hour.

Does anyone else find it offensive when John King says "that's where the people are." It seems as if King believes apes live in rule areas and the only people are sophisticated urban dwellers.
