Granby's most notorious bank robber, J. R. Embrey, will not be getting his guns back.
Federal Judge Ortrie Smith ruled today that Embrey, despite a a recent U. S. Supreme Court decision reaffirming citizens' Second Amendment right to bear arms, was not entitled to reclaim the guns that were confiscated from him by the Missouri Highway Patrol during the arrest that landed him in prison.
"Defendant’s entitlement to the firearms has been fully litigated," Smith wrote.
A complete list of the confiscated weapons, plus information about Embrey's crimes can be found in the July 16 Turner Report.
