State Treasurer Sarah Steelman says she will continue to turn the spotlight on her opponent, Kenny Hulshof's, spending record as their campaign for the Republican gubernatorial nomination enters its final days, according to a Steelman campaign news release:
We have chosen to highlight Kenny Hulshof’s record of earmark spending in Congress to show the differences in our philosophies. Congressman Hulshof only defends his votes, even now, and claims they are not relevant to state politics.
Now the Club for Growth, one of the most fiscally conservative groups in America, has weighed in, calling Kenny Hulshof’s record “one of the worst” among Republicans in Congress. Executive Director David Keating, in an interview with a KY3 reporter, says that Hulshof “is wrong to imply his spending record isn’t relevant in a race for Governor."
We will continue to highlight Congressman Hulshof’s record as a verifiable sign of how he would mismanage Missourian’s tax dollars as Governor.
