Former Kanakuk worker bound over in felony sex case

It appears no quick ending is in sight for the latest felony sex case against someone connected with Kanakuk Kamps in Branson.

Lee Bradberry, 22, Auburn, Ala., waived his preliminary hearing today in Taney County Circuit Court was bound over for trial. His arraignment in the trial division is scheduled for 10 a.m. July 12.

Today's hearing was described in on-line court records as a disposition hearing, indicating that a guilty plea might be possible.

Bradberry is charged with two counts of statutory sodomy, two counts of sexual molestation and single counts of sexual misconduct and attempted statutory sodomy, all involving underage boys who were under his charge as a counselor at Kanakuk Kamps in Branson.

Bradberry is the second Kanakuk staffer to face charges involving underage boys in the past three years. Pete Newman is serving two life sentences after pleading guilty in 2010.
