Sarah Steelman: This fiscal insanity must stop

Sarah Steelman has announced a new initiative calling on all citizens to petition Claire McCaskill and Congress to Pass a Balanced Budget Now. 

Steelman stated, “A balanced budget is my number one priority. Congress has to stop spending money we don’t have. Congress has to stop raising the debt ceiling and balance the budget now. We cannot afford another dollar of debt. Every person who wants Congress to do their job should sign this petition demanding Claire McCaskill and the rest of Congress to pass a balanced budget now. Our freedom, our future and our children’s future is at stake.”

Steelman has been a strong voice in opposition to the continued out of control spending in Washington. Sarah’s Show-Me Solutions, her plan of action for legislation to file in her first 60 days in office, included cut, cap, and balance legislation. This new petition focuses on the need for Congress to act without further delay.

“Every day Congress continues to talk instead of act on a balanced budget is another day we loose more freedom.“ Steelman concluded, “Claire McCaskill has now allowed 1,127 days to pass without a budget and yet she continues to vote to raise the debt ceiling, spending money we don’t have. This fiscal insanity must stop.”
