(From the campaign of Seventh District Democratic Congressional nominee Jim Evans)
Jim Evans salutes all the voters who participated in the nominating process of Missouri’s political parties and in the decisions regarding our Missouri Constitution.
Jim believes that exercising our individual and collective rights as citizens is fundamental to the sustenance of our democratic republic. The act of voting is a testament to each citizen’s commitment to our American heritage and future.
Second, Jim sincerely salutes Genevieve Williams for her exceptional contributions to the vitality of the Democratic Party and the civic life of our region. Gen’s work in the wake of the Joplin disaster and her conscientious campaign for Congress constitute powerful testimony to her values and personal devotion to the public good.
Jim said “I know that Gen has a long and superlative career in public life and service ahead of her. I wish her only the best in the years to come. I eagerly look forward to her support and assistance as we move forward together toward the general election.”
Jim continued, “The focus of our campaign has been and will remain on offering an alternative to the bad judgment and failed policy prescriptions of Representative Billy Long.”
Jim is determined to demonstrate that Congressman Long’s record, which includes repeated efforts to repeal and replace Medicare, is incompatible with Ozarks values.
Jim Evans is not a stereotype and will not conform to any attempt to define him as anyone other than who he is. Jim is a Vietnam-era Veteran and has been a dairy farmer, cattle producer and teacher. He is an unconventional Democrat whose campaign is based on ascertaining common ground, asserting our common conscience and attaining the common good.
Jim seeks to restore the control of our public institutions to the people, freed of the corruption of our money-fueled politics and pay-to-play government. He will fight for the interests of the vast majority against the privileged few and for our founding principles against the personal pursuits of so many of our present leaders.
