Missouri spends $1 million a year for prisoners to receive cable

That is misleading... there is a surcharge applied to items bought in the store it isn't state funds. Whether you agree they should have access to it is another discussion entirely.

Why yes, it would be so much better for prisoners facing decades in prison to think of other things . . . like how to main and murder correctional officers.

Or, even better, to go out shooting, if they think they are about to be railroaded.

Cable TV is the cheapest plug-in drug available. Best not to stir convicts up to where they start of thinking about finishing things off one way or another. Gotta leave them to where they will think of surrendering rather than fighting to the very end.
