Carl Junction Schools' COVID-19 outlook was much brighter this week as the number of students and staff in isolation decreased.
Statistics posted Wednesday on the district website show the number of students in isolation dropped from 15 to four, while the number of staff members in isolation decreased from nine to one.
Two of the four students in isolation are from the high school with one apiece from the intermediate school and the junior high. The only staff member remaining in isolation is from K-1.
Quarantine numbers also fell 132 to 70 students and 12 to 11 staff members.
Superintendent Phil Cook stressed the positive news in a Facebook post this morning:
On this beautiful Friday, we just want to say thank you to our Bulldog families. Our District holds the health of our precious students above all other concerns. We have been diligently tracking, recording, and monitoring these trends since school began a month ago. We are thrilled to announce, that at this present time, COVID quarantine and isolation numbers are drastically decreasing.
We UNDOUBTEDLY owe this to our dependable teachers (absolute superheroes), our fantastic maintenance staff, and to YOU - our parents and students.
We know that every moment, of every school day, is not perfectly executed to the letter on procedures - we are all human beings. However, we do truly believe in the vast majority of cases, the precautions that are in place are being followed on our campus - and, we believe they are working.
