Parson activates National Guard to deal with possible civil unrest

(From Gov. Mike Parson)

Today, Governor Mike Parson signed Executive Order 20-17 activating the Missouri National Guard as a precautionary measure in response to recent instances of civil unrest across the country. The National Guard, as well as the Missouri State Highway Patrol, stands ready to assist local law enforcement if necessary.

“We are saddened by recent acts of violence that have occurred in some cities across the nation,” Governor Parson said.

“We fully support the right of citizens to peacefully protest and are committed to protecting that right. At this time, we are taking a proactive approach in the event that assistance is needed to support local law enforcement in protecting Missouri and its people.”

Executive Order 20-17 declares that a state of emergency exists in Missouri due to civil unrest and calls on the Adjutant General, or his designee, to forthwith call and order into active service such portions of the National Guard as he deems necessary to aid executive officials of Missouri to protect life and property.

It is further ordered and directed that the Adjutant General or his designee, and through him, the commanding officer of any unit or other organization of the National Guard, to take such action and employ such equipment as may be necessary in support of civilian authorities and provide such assistance as may be authorized and directed by Governor Parson.

This is pure politics. The only emergency that exists in the State of Missouri is the one the governor refuses to really do anything about. As of yesterday, 2000+ Missourians have died of Covid-19, we're still a hot spot in the nation, and our cases and deaths just keep rising. "But hey, folks, look over here; don't think about Covid. It's not a winner for me." If it's necessary, the Guard can be quickly activated to restore order in a city, as it has been in the past, but to declare the whole state an emergency to achieve some political objective is an abuse of power of the first order.

So Parson takes action against a "possible" occurrence, but he won't take any action against a threat that is actually killing Missourians. July 21st was the first day Missouri went over 1,000 new Covid-19 confirmations. Since then, 57 of the last 66 days we have been over 1,000 confirmations with 15 of those days over 1,500 confirmations of new cases. Missouri has over 2,000 deaths now and climbing.

These "right to lifers" need to explain that the right to life ends at birth. Once born, you are on your own.

It appears that my reply to the above has been censored. The post was factual with statistics gleaned from CDC. It disagreed with the narrative of the 6:51 post, not sure how it set with your personal. If there were any violations of site rules you can let me know at tweeddeluxe@sbcglobal.net I too posted as anonymous.
