Webb City man charged for beating woman, stealing her car

A felony robbery charge was filed today in Jasper County Circuit Court against a Webb City man who allegedly beat a woman and stole her car.

According to the probable cause statement, the crime took place October 14 at a Joplin residence with Steven Anthony Blansfield (DOB 1992) hitting the woman on the head and knocking her down.

After she fell to the ground, he repeatedly punched her in the face. Victim1 stated her head bounced off the garage door every time she was punched. After assaulting her, he demanded the keys to her 2007 Honda Odyssey. Blansfield told her to kneel and pray. 

Blansfield left with her vehicle and never returned. On 10/27/2023 the vehicle was located in Kansas City, Missouri by officers. Blansfield was inside the vehicle and arrested.

The case was investigated by the Joplin Police Department.
