It happens more than people think. It helps to drop in at unexpected times, but nothing can prevent it. Memory care patients are defenseless. I know.
Takeshia Moore - When found Guilty - I hope they threw the Book at her. Families entrust the care of their loved ones to these facilities / health care nursing homes and these patients should be given the respect and treatment due them. I would also, hope that the Patient and their Family seek Civil Lawsuits against Takeshia Moore and the Nursing Facility that hired her that this is a Wake-Up Call - to Vet and Watch their Staff very carefully so this type of Treatment dues not happen again.
My Worry is she did this to other Patients at other facilities - so if she worked at other Facilities - investigations should be going about her past work positions in these local facilities.
Did she work at Joplin Health and Rehab or Other Facilities and was she Fired from their?
The family should sue her, not Wildwood. As soon as this happened it was reported. Wildwood has camera's throughout the whole building inside and outside. This includes even the apartments. Wildwood goes above and beyond to keep our residents safe. She passed our back ground check. At the time of being hired. So in no way is any of this Wildwood's fault. It wasn't hidden. Now if our department heads did not care it would have been swept away not reported and she would still be working there. Wildwood senior living is nothing at all like any other senior living around here. We all love our residents like they are our family members to. We are with them 8 to 12 hrs a day we spend many hrs caring for them. Not just basic needs we are there when their families can not be. This means we are there when they are sick, sad happy we go above and beyond to make their daily living the best it can be. Just because one bad person did this does not mean it's every staff that works there should be held responsible for one horrible persons bad decisions.
