The attorney for Shawn Ryan Valentine, 35, Joplin, requested an 8-year sentence for his client in a sentencing memorandum filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
In the memorandum, Assistant U. S. Public Defender Megan Chalifoux says Valentine has accepted responsibility for his crimes and has "the support of his family and friends to move forward in life as a productive law-abiding citizen."
Also filed today were letters of support for Valentine from his mother and a friend.
Valentine's sentencing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, March 11 in U. S. District Court in Springfield.

His Public Pretender is asking for an 8-Year Sentence - because her client, Shawn Ryan Valentine has accepted responsibility - I call BS - He got Caught and know he and family and friends says he plans to move forward in life - While this Poor Innocent Child will have to Live with this terrible Act for the rest of their Life - -
All of these Innocent Victims of Pedophiles - Will face these horrific Acts everyday for the Rest of their Natural Lives - Why should these Criminals get a Pass or Short Sentence to then get to walk away or get out and commit another crime against Society.
We cannot let Criminals take the easy way out - Tough Judges, Prosecuting Attorneys, and Jurors needs to Lock this Bastards up for Life.
