The Barton County Prosecuting Attorney's office charged an Edmond, Oklahoma man Friday with four counts of financial exploitation of an elderly rural Lamar man.
From the probable cause statement:
On July 9, 2025, Barton County deputies responded to the 100 block of Sw 5th Lane, Lamar, Barton County, Missouri. Upon arrival, they learned the victim was over the age of 60 and had been defrauded of over $150,000 during the months of June and July 2025.
During this fraud, the victim was contacted by a person claiming to be with the Federal Trade Commission. This person told the victim their bank accounts were compromised and if the victim did not provide him with all of the victim's money it would be lost or stolen.
The victim identified they had provided $25,000 to the FTC agent via a bitcoin machine in Joplin, Missouri. Then two more money transfers were facilitated in person. The first occurred on June 26, 2025, where the victim was instructed to withdraw $80,000 in U. S. currency and provide it to a man in a car who would arrive at the victim's home.
On July 9, 2025, the victim was again asked to withdraw U. S. currency and provide it to an individual who would arrive at their home. During this incident, the victim was asked to provide $85,000.
On July 11, 2025, Barton County deputies, assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lamar Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, conducted a controlled U. S. currency delivery to the suspect.
During the controlled delivery, the victim provided a pacakage containing $85,000 to Ravi Amanaganti of Edmond, Oklahoma, in the 100 block of SW 5th Lane, Lamar, Missouri.
Amanaganti put the package into a backpack inside of his vehicle then began to pull away from the residence when he was contacted by law enforcement officers and the money was recovered.
Under Miranda, Amanaganti admitted to knowing that he was picking up money from the victim and that he had collected the other two packages. Amanaganti further admitted to being compensated for each money package he picks up

1:59PM, Thank You NCWS - For your - "No Comment Woke Syndrome" Diatribe and your continual Lack of Intelligence and another "No Comment" about the Real Topic of Elder Abuse. We all see your Lack of Empathy for any Victims, yet you are the First to Stand up for the Criminals and Illegal Aliens - who Victimize Others and Break our Laws, typical Leftist Liberal Democratic Rhetoric - and we are all DUMBER for even giving you anytime on a Public Forum, which is probably why you only survive based being on Government Roles and Living Off Others - AKA in someone's Basement!!!
i could not agree that he needs a "bed and breakfast" at the tax payer's expense. Put him on a boat that travels the oceans.
