The Joplin area members of the Missouri House split their votes Tuesday when the omnibus education bill was defeated 116 to 43.
House records indicate Speaker of the House Ron Richard, R-Joplin, and Rep. Kevin Wilson, R-Neosho, voted for the bill, while representatives Ed Emery, R-Lamar, Tom Flanigan, R-Carthage, Marilyn Ruestman, R-Joplin, and Bryan Stevenson, R-Webb City, voted against it.
