Missouri Right to Life endorses Ed Emery

(From State Senate candidate Ed Emery)

Former Missouri Representative Ed Emery announced that he has received the endorsement of Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee. Emery is running for state Senate in the newly formed 31st District comprising Barton, Bates, Cass, Henry andVernon counties.
In their endorsement letter, Chairman Dave Plemmons had this to say: “Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee is pleased to endorse your candidacy in the Republican primary election being held August 7, 2012. This endorsement represents our selection of you as the candidate in your primary who will be the most effective voice for the protection of innocent human life.”
Missouri Right to Life is the leading pro-life advocacy organization statewide, representing more than 250,000 pro-life Missourians. It is dedicated to promoting the right to life of all persons, especially those who are unborn, disabled or elderly.
“I am pleased to receive the endorsement of the Missouri Right to Life PAC,” Emery said. “I believe that no one has the right to arbitrarily take another’s life. Just because a baby or helpless adult cannot speak for herself or fight back is not justification to kill her. Our youth are the strength of our future, and the elderly are our wisdom and stability — our heritage.”
Emery is running on a platform of constitutional principles including fighting job-killing taxes and regulations; limiting the size and scope of government; protecting the sanctity of human life beginning in the womb; promoting individual freedom and personal responsibility; successfully educating every child; and returning Godly values to our culture.
“We take great care in choosing candidates to support in elections,” Plemmons said. “We thank you [Ed Emery] for your desire and efforts to protect the lives of the vulnerable in our society.”
In addition to survey responses and pro-life involvement in the community, Missouri Right to Life also considered past pro-life leadership, sponsorship and voting records in the Missourilegislature, both in committee and on the floor. Emery served four terms in the Missouri House (2003-2010) representing the former 126th District where he consistently promoted pro-life legislation.
Other conservative organizations that have endorsed Emery include Concerned Women for America of Missouri and the Missouri Conservative Coalition. He also has received endorsements from state Senators Rob Shaaf , Jim Lembke and Chuck Purgason, and Representatives Barney Fisher and Bill White, as well as from former state Representatives Rex Rector, Susan Phillips, Bryan Stevenson and Larry Wilson.
