New bill gives babysitters the right to gun down intruders

Missouri did not need the Castle Doctrine law in the first place, but we have it and it may soon be extended to babysitters.

HB 2126, sponsored by freshman Rep. Joe Don McGaugh, R-Carrolton, would extend the Castle Doctrine from property owners to "an individual who has been given specific authority by the property owner."

The bill's co-sponsors include Speaker of the House Tim Jones, R-Eureka.
