High school sources have told the Turner Report that one of the two resource officers has been cut, along with secretarial and janitorial jobs, as Superintendent C. J. Huff continues his plan to deal with the district's current financial crisis situation by cutting from the bottom up.
The financial problems, however, are not preventing the district from advertising for a "continuous learning coach."
The following job requirements for a continuous learning coach were posted on the district website today:
Collaborate with building and district level administration to promote achievement of building and district goals
Link schools with district curriculum initiatives and resources
Communicate and model proven instructional practices that will result in increased student achievement
Create and collaborate with teacher teams and schools on district assessments and resources for continuity
Provide professional development on district initiatives
Co-plan, co-teach, observe, and provide embedded classroom support
Analyze data and facilitate data conversations
Keep abreast of innovative strategies and research that will enhance student learning

you have got to be freaking kidding me. more of these people wandering around with nothing to do but generate busy work in order to justify their jobs. which means they have to have an administrator to justify that job. and with all of these people what the hell do they need "specialists" for? angie killed that off when she got here in order to make coaching jobs, as i recall.
more waste. in a district that's going under financially. are we to presume the new board approved this nonsense? same ol' , same ol. nothing is going to change.
So Huffandpuff doesnt care about school safety anymore. He get rid of an important position and keeps other do nothing jobs. So I guess if someone gets hurt he will have another opportunity to cry on camera. It time the new board does there job and get rid of him.
Can someone please explain to me what the purpose of the TLC and learning coach positions are? I do not see how they benefit student learning, and I would hope that student learning is any administration's number one priority. It is my understanding that they rarely, if ever, work directly with students. How is hiring more TLC's while potentially reducing the number of teachers and support staff meeting any logical goal? It seems like they are just a middle management position doing things, such as running meetings and combing through meaningless data and statistics, that principals and administrators should be doing. Am I missing something?
Coaches are CJ spies so he can get rid of those he doesnt like.
Most of the time they try to look busy and worry about how to justify their jobs. You can't trust them at all. Worthless waste of funds.
The appropriate cuts need to be made at the Taj Mahal aka Administration building. They do not even come close to earning those enormous salaries.
Huff: You know that TLC thing we've been doing the past few years that hasn't really helped anything? Let's keep doing it!

They're also cutting technology positions. How will they take care of all those laptops and ipads?
No secretaries to help run buildings, no bus drivers to drive the kids to school, no officers to give security, no teachers to teach kids to read, no one to keep the technology running and teachers in meetings all the time.
That's okay. All the kids are going to do any more is test so they don't really need all that. But those principals and TLCs will be around.

The TLCs were originally supposed to support the teachers in the classrooms by helping them learn new teaching skills, set up interventions for kids and lead professional development. Instead, they've been turned into spies who kiss up enough to move into principal or director positions.
