A Missouri Southern graduate and a former Joplin Globe editor were elected to the two top positions on the Missouri Associated Press Managing Editors (APME) board Wednesday.
Jacob Brower (left) editor and publisher of The Monett Times, was elected board president. Brower has been at The Times since December 2013, and graduated from Missouri Southern in 2004.
Gary Castor, (below) managing editor of the Jefferson City News Tribune, was elected vice president. Castor has been at the News Tribune since 2008, and was design editor at the Joplin Globe from 1985 to 2008.
Matthew Sanders, city editor for the Columbia Tribune, was elected secretary.
Other board members are: Julie Turner-Crawford, editor of the Lebanon Daily Record; Doug Smith, managing editor of the Daily Journal(Park Hills); and Susan Miller, assistant managing editor of the Washington Missourian.
