Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) and the House have passed the Howard P. "Buck" McKeon National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2015. The bill provides for our national defense while giving our men and women in uniform the resources they need to protect America.
“This bill is a bipartisan effort that gives our men and women in uniform the tools and resources they need to protect our nation from current and emerging threats," said Hartzler. "We are still facing a scarcity of funds due to sequestration, but this legislation works under that threat to address the issue – and it does so in a bipartisan manner.”
“There are many provisions in the bill that I am pleased with, such as additional Growler funding, keeping the Apache with the National Guard, and rejecting the Administration’s proposal for Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) and reductions to military pay and benefits,” Hartzler added. “In particular, our work to save the A-10 from retirement is incredibly important because it provides a piece of protection to our ground troops that is simply unmatched in any other aircraft. Our men and women defending our national security deserve the nation’s best close air support aircraft, and the A-10 is that aircraft.”

The bill will now go before the Senate for consideration.
