Gordons to pay $100,000 to Braxton Wooden's family

Foster parents Mark and Treva Gordon of Alba will pay $100,000 to settle the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the survivors of eight-year-old Braxton Wooden, who was shot to death by the Gordons' son, Ethan.
News that a settlement had been reached was first announced in the June 30 Turner Report, but the Joplin Globe account is the first to nail down the settlement terms. The $100,000 will be paid by the Gordons' insurance company.
According to Jeff Lehr's account in the Joplin Globe:

The settlement agreement with the Gordons' insurer allots $34,801.68 to McLean and $41,997.20 to her attorneys, Judd McPherson of Joplin and Christian Faiella of Moberly. It awards Rhonda Stone, a great-aunt of McLean's four surviving children, the remainder of the $100,000 on behalf of each of the children.

The lawsuit against the Missouri Division of Youth Services continues.

Amen, that is probably what it will do. Maybe she could also invest in some form of birth control as well.
