The Joplin NEA Board of Executives has endorsed Jeff Koch for the vacant sport on the Joplin R-8 Board of Education.
Koch is one of five candidates, along with Jennifer Martucci, Shawn McGrew, Lane Roberts, and Chris Tucker, to apply for the spot, which was left vacant when Dawn Stricklen resigned after transferring her daughter to Webb City High School.
This is the second time the local NEA chapter has endorsed Koch for school board. During the April election, NEA endorsed Koch, Debbie Fort, and incumbent Randy Steele for three positions. Fort, Steele, and Lynda Banwart came out on top in the seven-person race.
The Board has scheduled interviews with the five applicants for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Administration Building at 32nd and Duquesne.
