The vacant position on the Joplin R-8 Board of Education should be filled by this time tomorrow (Wednesday) night, according to an agenda posted this afternoon.
The board is scheduled to interview four candidates at 4:30 p.m., starting with Jeff Koch, followed by Shawn McGrew, Jennifer Martucci, and Lane Roberts.
The interviews, as well as the discussion about the candidates will be held in open session, according to the agenda.
Following the discussion, a board member will be selected and sworn into office.
A closed session is scheduled after that.
The board vacancy was caused by the resignation of Dawn Sticklen, a board member since 2012, after she transferred her daughter to Webb City High School.
The new board member will serve until the April election, when three seats, those belonging to the new member, Board President Annie Sharp and Jim Kimbrough, will be open.
