Missouri’s unemployment rate dropped by four-tenths of a point to 5.9 percent in October, the lowest since June 2008, according to seasonally adjusted data released today by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. During the month, the state’s nonfarm payroll employment also grew by 2,400 jobs.
Employment in financial activities was up by 1,500 jobs, while transportation, warehousing & utilities added 1,200 jobs.
Missouri’s nonfarm payrolls have increased by 48,400 jobs over the past year.
