Davis pledges to work for ethics reform in Jefferson City

In this portion of his weekly newsletter, Rep. Charlie Davis, R-Webb City, pledges to work for ethics reform in Jefferson City:

Today begins the hearings on the ethics bills file so far this year.

Whether there is a perceived or a factual ethics issue here in Jefferson City, the people of our state deserve to know that we are going to do some good things to ensure the trust of our citizens. I get very frustrated with people using their position as legislators (or any other elected office) to further their personal agenda. We are elected to do the people’s business and should ALWAYS take the high road and hold ourselves to a higher standard.

Our country will never be better than those leading our government. We have seen so many unethical things happen in government, mostly in Washington, but also in our very own capitol. It MUST stop!

I want you to know that I will do everything I can to get these ethics issues resolved and rebuild the trust we have lost with our constituents.
