Today marks the first day of the 2nd session of the 98th general assembly. It is also one of my favorite days of session as many of the members and staff of the Missouri government will start off the day at Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City for the annual prayer service.
It's important for people to understand the United States Constitution didn't create a "separation of church and state" as those words appear no were in the Constitution! What the Constitution’s First Amendment does say is that government shall make no law “respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” So today I'm thankful that the church was invited to always be an active part of government but the government was never invited to be an active part of the church!
The first link below is to a list of bills I am directly working on this session as of now. The second link is ALL the bills filed up to his point by all members of the Missouri House. This list could change as more may be added or removed. I always welcome suggestions on issues that need fixed dealing with Missouri government.

Jeebus. He'd have his panties in a twist if the session started off at a mosque instead of a Baptist Madrassa.
