Missouri GOP: McCaskill opposition to Gorsuch does not represent Missouri values

(From the Missouri Republican Party)

Senator Claire McCaskill announced she would not support the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, a decision that defies the values her Missouri constituents.

Missourians voted President Trump into office by a stunning 18 (eighteen) points in November, yet his nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge Gorsuch, now faces harsh opposition from Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill.

McCaskill was expected to give Gorsuch her support, not because she sought to reflect the desire of her constituents, but because she feared his replacement.

Just days ago, McCaskill was caught on tape saying she wasn't comfortable with the filibuster strategy she now plans to join, worried if Judge Gorsuch wasn't confirmed, someone more conservative would come after him.

Now, McCaskill's made a complete about-face and will join Washington Democrats in their continued display of obstruction.

“Today, Claire McCaskill bowed to pressure from Chuck Schumer and the most liberal elements of her party demanding continued obstruction of Judge Gorsuch, who is eminently qualified to serve on the US Supreme Court," said Austin Stukins, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party. “Just days ago, McCaskill was caught on tape saying that she was ‘uncomfortable’ with the filibuster strategy that she now plans to join. When McCaskill loses her re-election bid next year, it will be because she continues to put the interests of the Democrats' Washington DC party bosses ahead of Missourians."

So much to say about this.

First, this does, in fact, represent some, in fact, still, a lot of Missourians. Maybe it's not the majority but Senator Blunt can maybe represent everyone who is for yet another Right Wing, Repubilcan, "Conservative" judge on the Supreme Court.

Second, the Republicans who, last year, blocked the nomination of Merrick Garland and blocked it for more than a year didn't represent a majority of the Americans people and worse, it went against our own Constitution, ironically and hypocritically enough.

But yeah, get ready for it. Gorsuch will be our next Supreme Court justice. He shouldn't be but he will.

We assume you mean Goruch, surely.

And we agree.

Poor Republicans don't like having to face their own Obstructionist playbook from the last 8 years. The party of NO has become the party of DOH! Now the party before country Republicans are crying because someone is standing against their rich owners wishes. You want some cheese with that whine?

She repress test me & I will continue to vote for her. Blunt only represents the top 1% of people. All he has done for Missouri is make himself & his family wealthy.he won't even meet with his constituents.

Just remember, the Democrats did the same thing to Bush, as the Republican party did to Obama regarding supreme court appointments. So Neil will be confirmed and if they have to follow Harry Reid's play book and use nuclear option, then by all means they should do so...Paybacks a real B×××H , After 8 years of Obama's failed policies this is soooo refreshing to watch!

Anonymous 8:16 Democrats did not do the same thing as Republicans did in the case of Merrick Garland and to claim that they did is disingenuous in the extreme. To consider Gorsuch before giving Garland a hearing - the least he was due - would be a travesty. Further, to accept that particular type of obstructionism, the failure of Republicans to do their constitutional duty in the case of Garland, is to undermine democratic norms. Then, of course, there are the extreme, out-of-the-mainstream views of Gorsuch - but that's another matter.

Overall, good on McCskill. She's not only got my vote, but I'll be out working hard for her re-election.

I am a Missourian and I oppose the appointment of Gorsuch. He has a proven record of siding wth corporations to the detriment of citizens. I also question his lack of experience. He has only been a judge for 10 years. At his young age, we could be stuck with a far right activist judge for decades. Please explain which MO values you believe Senator McCaskill is betraying.

Sure we can remove the stain known as Blunt. Don't try feeding us your B.S. about how McCaskill makes her husband rich while your stain Blunt is using his entire family of lobbyists to make themselves rich. Try your hypocrisy somewhere else. Thanks for the idea. I am going to start a petition right now to remove the stain known as Blunt. Good idea there Harv!!

McCaskils personal wealth is $19 million; Senator Blunt is not eve in the top 50.
Mostly her husband made this from government construction projects such as low income housing; wonder how he knew about these so well?

What a laugh out of this corruption!!
