The Joplin area will send a slate of new legislators to Jefferson City in 2019 thanks to term limits.
Only one area legislator, Rep. Cody Smith, R-Carthage, is able to run for re-election.
Another one, Rep. Bill White, R-Joplin, is hoping to move up the ladder and has filed for Senate.
Rep. Mike Kelley, R-Lamar, cannot run for another term, but the office may stay in the family, since his wife, Ann Kelley, is the only candidate to file for the 127th District seat.

What the hell is wrong with you people? These Republicans are running without Democratic opposition. If you people want a Legislature without Republicans in it, you do not follow this model. Put some Democratic candidates on the ballot so we will at least have a choice.
Ann Kelley is just a puppet, as is Mike Kelley. Mike needs to be investigated for harboring an illegal alien. His sister is married, or at least living with, an illegal who has been deported twice.
I was incorrect, it is a niece, not a sister.
Oh, but they have an "R" beside their names so it is OK if they harbor an illegal alien.
