Virtual hearing date set for Missouri American Water rate increase request

The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold virtual local public hearings in January to receive customer comment in water and sewer rate cases filed by the Missouri-American Water Company (MAWC). 

 Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, these local public hearings will be conducted virtually by WebEx and telephone conference. They will be streamed live on the Commission’s website (psc.mo.gov).

To facilitate an orderly presentation that can be preserved for the record, members of the public who wish to participate in the question and answer session or make a comment to the Commission, need to register by sending their first and last name, phone number and email address to mawccomments@psc.mo.gov or by calling 1-800-392-4211 by 5 pm the day before the hearing.








To attend the public hearing by telephone, at the time of the hearing, call toll-free 1-855-718-6621, listen to the prompt and enter the meeting number (access code) set out below, followed by # (pound/hashtag symbol). If prompted for a password, enter 0344.

To participate by video/Internet, visit the website www.webex.com . You can also download the Cisco WebEx meetings application on your mobile device, laptop, desktop or tablet prior to the hearing and join the meeting at the hearing time by inputting the corresponding access code and password listed below.

The Commission has scheduled eight virtual local public hearings. Any person may comment at any of the hearings, but are encouraged to attend the hearing corresponding to the location nearest their service area for the most relevant information. Comments at the hearing will be limited to five minutes per person.

A PSC Staff conducted question and answer session will be held at the beginning of each local public hearing. The formal local public hearing will begin at the conclusion of the question and answer session. The local public hearing schedule appears below.

On June 30, 2020, MAWC filed water and sewer rate cases with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase current annual water and sewer revenues by approximately $73.5 million (21.1%).

MAWC serves approximately 470,000 water customers and 15,000 sewer customers in Missouri.
