During a hearing this morning in U. S. District Court in Springfield, Shawn Jay Moore, 58, Joplin, pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography.
Judge David P. Rush ordered a presentence investigation. No date has been scheduled for sentencing.
According to a detention motion filed December 28 Moore allegedly uploaded 14 files depicting child pornography onto an online dating website.According to the detention motion, Moore also "has an extensive history of alcohol abuse manifested in six convictions for driving while intoxicated."
The defendant was later interviewed and confessed to downloading child pornography from the internet on a daily basis.

Shawn Jay Moore - Another Sick Pedophile. He has an extensive history of alcohol abuse manifested in six convictions for driving while intoxicated, and this is what he has just got caught doing. Like most Criminals, they hardly get convicted for the majority of Crimes they commit or get caught at. So why is he out on the Streets, the majority of Criminals and Sex Offenders cannot be Reformed - but we keep giving them "Get Out of Jail Free Cards" and Multiple Chances and then dump them back into Society to be Repeat Offenders.
We need to be tough on Criminals, Stop Feeling Sorry for Them, Feel Sorry for their Victims.
Jesus died for Shawn's sins. I pray he finds forgiveness and eternal life in Christ.
