(From Eighth District Congressman Jason Smith)As a leader of the House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry, I’ve been on the frontlines in the fight to get Americans the truth about the Biden family’s shady, multimillion-dollar business schemes.
As part of this effort, under my leadership, the Ways and Means Committee helped bring to light the testimony of two brave IRS whistleblowers who alleged that the Department of Justice (DOJ) delayed, denied, and divulged key information about an investigation into the president’s son, and exposed that President Joe Biden was not truthful when he told the American people that he was unaware of his son’s business dealings.
Most recently, on May 22, the Ways and Means Committee, on which I serve as chairman, voted to release over 100 pages of evidence showing that Hunter Biden – the president’s son – repeatedly lied under oath to Congress.
According to the new evidence, there were at least three separate instances where Hunter Biden made false statements to Congress to distance his involvement in what should be considered a clear scheme to enrich the Biden family. Lying during sworn testimony is a felony offense that the DOJ has prosecuted numerous individuals for in recent years. The American people expect the same accountability for the son of the President of the United States – and so do I.
What’s also alarming about this new evidence is that it shows once again that Hunter Biden believes there are two systems of justice in this country – one for his family, and one for everyone else. Not only did the president’s son refuse to comply with his initial subpoena until threatened with criminal contempt, but he then came before Congress and lied. Hunter Biden’s lies under oath, and obstruction of a congressional investigation into his family’s potential corruption, calls into question other pieces of his testimony.
The newly released evidence affirms, once again, that the only witnesses who can be trusted to tell the truth in this investigation are the IRS whistleblowers. These IRS officials worked directly on the investigation into Hunter Biden’s tax evasion case. After getting frustrated that the DOJ was blocking their investigation, they bravely came forward to provide evidence to the Ways and Means Committee that became the foundation of House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into the president. Thanks to the evidence they have provided, we know Hunter Biden and his business associates made millions from selling access to his father around the world; Joe Biden's denials of any knowledge or involvement are not true; and the DOJ tried to undermine, stonewall, and block the investigation into the Biden family, including the president.
What our investigation has uncovered should alarm every American. Yet to this day, Washington Democrats are turning a blind eye to the serious allegations against the president and his family. That’s because their top priority is protecting Joe Biden – and taking down former President Donald Trump.

Time and again, the Left has showed there is no limit to how far they will go to take down Trump. They teamed up with the liberal media to create the Russia collusion hoax. They impeached him not once – but twice. Blue states kicked Trump off the ballot but, fortunately, their attempt to rig the election was blocked by the Supreme Court. And now they are trying to get him thrown into prison.
Elected officials using the government as a weapon to take down political opponents – and protect their allies – is something I thought I would only see in third world countries. But the Left believes that the government is just another tool they can use to force their agenda on the rest of America – no matter how high the cost. But make no mistake: I will never stop fighting to protect our conservative values, our rural way of life, and the freedoms we hold dear.

Gotta feel sorry for poor jason. He obviously got left behind by the rest of maga at the station. Nothing more sad and pathetic to see an elected official so completely inept while actually believing he's doing something important. It should be very concerning for his constituents that this is the best we can do?
