Former Joplin Globe reporter Roger McKinney retires after 40 years in business


Former Joplin Globe reporter Roger McKinney's last day at the Columbia Daily Tribune was Tuesday.

McKinney had been at the Tribune for the past decade after spending nearly 20 years at the Globe.

According to the Tribune article on his retirement, McKinney is not going to completely retire, but will do freelance work.

Thank goodness. Have never worked with someone who was so incompetent, lazy and out of touch. Spent more time juggling in the newsroom than doing actual work. Another example of why the newspaper business is on its death spiral, because it keeps people like this employed.
