Joplin High School seniors receive $2.3 million in scholarships

(From Joplin Schools)

The Joplin High School Class of 2024 has been awarded more than $2.3 million dollars in scholarship money they will use toward their post-secondary education!

This amount represents no less than our Eagles deserve. They've worked hard to maintain the academic, civic, and personal successes that have made these scholarships possible, and we can't wait to watch them soar into their next adventures.

Wherever they land, those communities, schools, businesses and organizations will be lucky to have them.

Well done, Eagles!

Thomas Jefferson IDS’s 18 seniors received a total of $6 million. Joplin High needs to up its game. No reason Joplin shouldn’t achieve much more.

Wish someone could double check the numbers for me but was told Carl Junction class of 2024 totaled $3.8 million in scholarships earned.

Again Congrats to all the 2024 Graduates, and the Opportunities that these Philanthropic Donations will offer all of these many students to further their education.

I hope that some of the Donations will funnel to Students in the Non-Traditional Educational Platforms of Trade Schools. The college enrollment rate for recent U.S. high school graduates fell to 61.4% in 2023, the lowest level in at least three decades. That means almost 40% of the High School Graduates are either going directly into the work force or not working at all.

Without additional Training or Education of some type these individuals will only find minimum wages and a lifetime of struggle to afford the American dream.
