Globe covers first day of Ryan trial

The Joplin Globe offers coverage of the first day of testimony in the murder trial of Jim Edward Ryan of Lamar. Jeff Lehr, who has been the newspaper's go to guy for quite a while, provides the story.
The trial is being held in Cedar County Circuit Court, Stockton, on a change of venue from Barton County.
It is curious that the Globe is right on top of a murder trial from the outer fringes of its coverage area, but let itself get beaten soundly on the Freeman/St. John's/Medicare story...despite the fact that the Globe was tipped off on that story first via a legal notice.

The Globe has some of the dumbest headlines ever. Todays "going great guns"...what the fck is that about? The paper just gives you the idea that reading it makes you part of an experience you don't want to be a part of...that you have nightmares about.
