Donnelly narrows the gap to one percent

The tide has turned in the Democratic race for attorney general. With approximately 80 percent of precincts reporting, Margaret Donnelly has narrowed Chris Koster's lead from six percent to 1.3 percent.

Koster has 99,078 votes to 95,160 for Mrs. Donnelly. Jeff Harris is lagging behind at 23 percent. If Koster wins, it could be because of the presence of the fourth candidate, attorney Molly Williams, who is pulling down 6.9 percent of the vote. When Ms. Williams entered the race, there was much speculation that she was a stalking horse for Koster, designed to keep Mrs. Donnelly from collecting all of the women's vote.
