Considering the springboard Barack Obama received from his convention speech four years ago (and the one Mario Cuomo gave a couple of decades ago), tonight could turn out to be the moment that our senator, Claire McCaskill, grabs the national spotlight.
Considering that if Obama gets elected to two terms, Joe Biden would be 73 years old in 2016, an opening might exist for the first female president of the United States, and who knows, it could be someone other than Hillary Clinton.
We will also have a chance to see how another prominent Democratic female, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, handles the spotlight this week.
